Local author and retired minister Rev. Dr. Charles E. Cravey has released his latest book, Seasons of Grace: 52 Devotions for the Journey, a year-long devotional that explores the enduring presence of God’s grace through all seasons of life.
The 215-page collection features weekly meditations that blend poetry, scripture, prayers, and reflective questions designed to inspire readers from diverse backgrounds. Each devotion aligns with the calendar year, covering themes from New Year’s renewal and Easter hope to Independence Day freedom, Thanksgiving gratitude, and the wonder of Christmas.
“I had every reader in mind when composing this work—to give each person a reason to get up in the morning and engage with God’s Word,” Cravey said. “A poem, a prayer, and a devotion can offer real encouragement for life’s journey.”
Seasons of Grace marks Cravey’s 40th published book and 20th devotional. He began writing at the age of 13 and has since authored several novels and composed numerous gospel songs. Now 74, Cravey says he continues to write prolifically.
“I’m currently writing a book about every two weeks,” he said. “God has inspired me to keep moving forward. I feel like I still have so much to share.”
A longtime resident of Statesboro, Cravey served for decades as a United Methodist minister and remains active in ministry through writing and music.
