Local Author Court Stevens to Release 10th Novel

by Chloe

Court Stevens, a local novelist and Executive Director of the Warren County Public Library, is preparing to launch her tenth book, continuing a successful writing career that began nearly two decades ago.

Stevens began her journey as an author in 2007 while working another job. Inspired by a vivid dream she interpreted as a calling, she decided to pursue writing full-time. Her debut novel, Faking Normal, marked the start of a prolific career. Since then, Stevens has gained recognition for titles such as the We Were Kings series, The June Boys, and Last Girl Breathing.

Her upcoming release, Tell Me Something Good, is set against the backdrop of an exclusive hunting club in a small town, where a young woman uncovers an illegal gun auction. Stevens emphasizes that the novel is less about solving a traditional “whodunit” mystery and more focused on uncovering “who armed the killer.”

Beyond storytelling, Stevens sees her work as a platform to foster connection and remind readers of their worth. “My goal as an author is to connect with people,” she says. “I want to remind others how much they are loved and how much they matter.”

The premiere event for Tell Me Something Good is scheduled for June 9 at 6 p.m.
